The Sandugo Street Dancing contest yesterday was a blast ! All nine contingents
which participated the street dancing contest showed all their best but
the Panglao contingent came out to be the best of the best. For the Nth
time, Panglao is still the undefeated champion.
The nine contingents comprised of : Municipality of Tubigon; Municipality
of Antequera; CVSCAFT (Central Visayas College of Arts, Forestry and Technology);
DCPNHS (Dr. Cecilio Potong National High School) & City of Tagbilaran;
University of Bohol; Municipality of Loboc; Municipality of Panglao; Municipality
of Ubay; and Municipality of Calape.
The contingent of the Municipality of Panglao, being this year's champion
won a cash prize of P100,000.00 pesos and a 6 feet trophy. Second place was
the contingent of the City of Tagbilaran and DCPNHS which also won a cash
prize of P75,000 pesos and a trophy. CVSCAFT won the third prize of P50,000
and a trophy.
This year's event was witnessed by thousands of Boholanos, TBTK 2003
participants and other visitors of Bohol. The CPG Sports Complex bleachers
was fully occupied and more people even filled the grounds area. Media
people from Cebu and Manila also covered the event.
Among the special guests who witnessed the colorful display of dances were:
Sen. Raul Roco, who chose to attend the Sandugo Street Dancing contest than
attending the birthday party of his wife in Manila; Multi-awarded actress
Elizabeth Orpesa and actor Victor Neri. The winners of the Miss Bohol Sandugo
'03 and the Miss Bohol International 2003, Maya Galvan were also there . Tagbilaran
City Mayor Jose V. Torralba and Bohol Gov. Erico B. Aumentado gave addressed
to welcome everyone to the grand affair.
