| LOON From
Maribojoc, we drove still towards north, heading for Loon. It is about 27 kilometers
from Tagbilaran City and about 13 kilometers from Maribojoc.

| | The
church of Loon is always a stunning structure to behold, everytime one passes
by it. One can't avoid admiring this old church for it is located along the main
road of Loon.
The church has two bell towers on both sides of its front.
Also made of coral rocks, this church was built during the Spanish era.
The
church is already more than 400 years old.

inside of the church. | | A
closer look of the church ceiling. |
The church is big
and spacious inside. The ceiling is also painted with religious subjects. The
ceiling paintings, though beautiful, obviously needs some restoring jobs by experts
to preserve its beauty. | | The
altar. | Slight side view of the church. |
| | | The
church altar is also beautiful. I can't help but notice the figures of pretty
angels above the altar, at the foot of the crucifix.
Outside the church,
at the right side, is a grotto of the Virgin Mary, where devotees can offer flowers,
light candles and say their prayers too.
