LEGEND
| |
Agahay ( 1919 ) - When the Spaniards came and settled Dunggo-an
( old name of Maribojoc ), Agahay was already a prosperous village
and was made a sitio of ancient Busao. The original name of Agahay
is " Dagahay " which means gently - flowing water. The different
springs of Agahay developed into streams of water that flows down
the Abatan River. During the early days of the Spanish conquest in
Bohol, when one was asked where he would pass by in going to Maribojoc,
the ready answer would be " sa Dagahay "' the stream of
water that gathers into the Abatan River where the Abatan Bridge is
now located.
