LEGEND

GUIWANON
( 1845 ) - Guiwanon is the oldest barangay in Maribojoc. Guiwanon is a mountainous place located along the seacost of Maribojoc. Fresh water is so scarce in this place. This barangay happened to be called Guiwanon because of its source of drinking water.

According to the old folks living in this barangay, there was an old man, the oldest during his time, who discovered their source of drinking water. This water, according the old man, flows from an underground spring called "Guiwan ". Although the water from Guiwan is a little bit salty, people living in this place used this water for drinking, for bathing and for washing their clothes. The people called this barangay as Guiwanon where they coined it from the old term " Guiwan " .
