LEGEND
| |
LAGTANGON ( 1902 ) - The name Lagtangon was taken from
the word " lagtang " " Lagtang " is a vine
that grew abundantly in this place in the older days. The barangay
folks cultured these plants and use it as herbal medicine. Some people
use the fruits of these plants for fishing. The fruits of "lagtang
" are poisonous to fish as well as to human beings. The use
of "lagtang" for catching fish was very rampant in
the past and is now considered as a destructive method of fishing.
This method of fishing is regarded as illegal and is no longer being
used.
